POWER OF PRAYER!

God sure is awesome!!

Today I started reading Too Busy NOT To Pray by Bill Hybels.

When we work, we work; but when we pray God works.  It's amazing how many coincidences occur when one begins to pray!  AMEN!

Today I asked the Lord to help me some how, some way, to finish up a project I have been stumped on.  I finished it tonight!  Miracle.

Then I shared with the Lord that I feel so rushed at times.  I feel school doesn't always get done as it should.  I also see my children as not always knowing what they should be working on if I'm not available.  I told the Lord I needed his advice and He was right there to help!  The Lord gave me this idea -

Today I took Kayla to a nice lunch at Beach Club Grill.  For $5.00/each we had a FANTASTIC lunch.  We talked and she smiled just about the entire time. 

In case you'd like to know what we ate: Kayla had a meatloaf/mashed pot sandwich with fries and a fresh cherry coke!  I enjoyed Pad Thai with a glass of refreshing water.  Did I mention they sat us right by the fire place!  Priceless!!

After lunch we stayed at our table and talked and looked over her school books/progress (which I brought along as part of our lunch date).  She told me what she desired to learn this year.  We went over a little schedule of how she'd like to fit school into her days.  We talked about additional things she could learn and we plotted when we would make that happen.  She'd like to make sandwich cookies & bar cookies so we have it scheduled so it happens.  We also talked about what time she should be waking up as well as chores (she needed a little reminder).  After lunch we went to the Dollar Store so she could do her Christmas shopping.

I must say the Lord gave me this idea! 

Ideally I will take each of my daughters out one on one about once a month.
Yes, I can do all of this from home but something about taking them out one on one to a quiet place is so helpful!  My daughter was like a NEW girl today!

I NEED to be reminded to go to the Lord FIRST.  It sure is the BEST WAY!!!  Thank you Lord for helping me once again today!
