A simple post about yummy foods and my recipe box -
Last night we made pretzels from scratch for the very first time. They were fantastic! I'd like to try making bagels next.
Today we baked and decorated cookies. Aren't they pretty! Thanks to my friend, Deborah, for giving me tons of yummy decorations. If it wasn't for her these pretty sprinkled cookies NEVER would have happened. If you know me I am not a 'baker'. My children know that and usually do the baking for me. :)
I also attempted raisin bread but something went terribly wrong. Two flat, hard loaves of raisin bread now sit upon my counter. I'm thinking I should make bread pudding or french toast. Other suggestions? I don't want to throw them away but they are very hard and dense as is.
Last night I organized my recipe box. Instead of organizing by dinners, parties I added specific categories for chicken, beef, pork/turkey, appetizers, breads, etc. Little things like this put a smile upon my face. :)
Enjoy your precious families this weekend. They are a blessing!

Okay - I need you to post your pretzel recipe. Ours do NOT look like that!
I must tell you how blessed I am with each post you share. When you mentioned the other day that you were making pretzels with the girls, I dug my stuff out and made them with Rilla. When you shared about letting your children sleep in and then blessed them with tea, I served my littles a tea party in the living room. Frosted cookies are on the list for Monday.
I appreciate your joy and how you freely share it as well as your struggles and what the Lord is showing you. I am glad you are my friend in real life, too!
