While attending a homeschool conference, earlier this year, I remember looking at all the books, feeling a bit overwhelmed. I asked God to direct me to ONE book He could use in my life. In the back of my mind I didn't think there would be a perfect book waiting for me to read/study but thought if there was one God would certainly know. I was pleasantly surprised when God directed me to: Homeschool Supermom...Not! by Susan Kemmerer.
And once AGAIN while I was at the Half Price Bookstore God blessed me. I was shopping the clearance section. I had no idea what I wanted so I just asked God to show me something good. He did!!! I found a LIKE NEW copy of The Moral Compass by William J Bennett for .80! I could not believe it. I sometimes wonder if God enjoys "showing off" like this. I know God doesn't really show off but I believe He DELIGHTS in surprising us.
I also know God knows I LOVE BOOKS! :)
God is a living, breathing and caring God! Why do I not remember to ask for His help more often. Sometimes I think something is so minor that I fail to ask God about it. In many instances I think I can handle it quicker than asking God. OUCH!
God really does care about EVERYTHING.
So I started thinking what should I be asking God?
I decided I should be asking God about EVERYTHING!
Then I began to question; What is Everything?
- My hubby is tired. How can I bless him today?
- Kids are bickering over a BRUSH! What should I do Lord?
- My child is overly quiet today. What should I say?
- I've upset someone. How should I make it right?
- I need a new bible. Lord would you show me which one?
- So many chores! Lord what do you need me to do right now?
- Lord I'm overwhelmed. I don't think I'm doing a good job with school today. It's not about me God. God can you keep my focus on you today?
- I have nothing good to cook for dinner (or I failed to thaw meat). What would make a yummy meal?
- My child does not understand a math concept. Lord please help!
Matthew 11:30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.
Luke 1:37 For nothing is impossible with God.
Thank you Lord that you promise to help us and you delight is us asking you for the help needed.
