A Lesson I Should Learn

I shared this email with a close friend of mine needing encouragement.  I wonder if it might do me good to apply this to homeschooling my darling children (I fear I do way too much talking) -

It did not come across as though you were not supporting xxx.  Foolish talk I say!  Where did you come up with that??  Seriously!!??

 

You asked for opinions then sharing occurred.  During the sharing you listened.

 

It didn't appear you were on one side or another.

 

Listening without disagreeing does not mean one is agreeing.

 

Ex: My dear friend shares things with me that I do not agree with.  I listen and often don't reply.  She KNOWS I do not agree and she knows I do not live the life she does.  I know I can pray and get much further with her than telling her what she is doing wrong.  Of course if God gives me a thought I share it with her otherwise silence is ok.  It's God's job to change people...that's what he does best! 

 

Really do you believe something needs changed with study!?  Get a couple nights of good sleep, eat a few good hot meals before making changes, etc.  I heard that on wcrf the other morning...so I can take no credit.

 

Also I heard 80% of all bible study leaders, pastors, 'Shepard's' leave the ministry because they become discouraged.  Be the 20%!  That was also on wcrf.  Not very good statistics! :(

 

Am I way off base?  Please don't tell me I have gone crazy. :)
